“Welcome with typical bread, cold cuts and local wine”
“We were the first customers of the house. An honor to have contributed to starting such a relaxing and pleasant place for a completely relaxing holiday. With all the comforts that surrounded us, between the quiet of the morning, the swimming pool for every hour of the day and the barbeque that awaited us in the evening. Guia is great and always available for anything we needed. The welcome with typical local bread, cold cuts and local wine made us understand immediately how much love this girl has for people. Thanks Guia, from the whole family, including the baby. See you soon. “
“A wonderful weekend”
“I spent a wonderful weekend at Casa di Guia with my two children! The house is in the classic Tuscan rustic style with all the comforts and the swimming pool available. The hostess welcomed us like family and spent an afternoon with us in the pool! The sea is just a few minutes away and the supermarket is easily accessible. The environment is peaceful and quiet, ideal for spending a few relaxing days away from the world! I am sure that I will visit Guia again in the future also because my children have expressed a desire to return several times! Highly recommended !!! “
“Posto magnifico, un’accoglienza e disponibilità rare”
We were guests at the Casa della Guia in October, a magnificent place, a rare welcome and availability. The area is truly strategic for visiting the region. The house is very nice, the beds are comfortable, everything clean, fireplace lit on our arrival. Guia (the owner) among other things is also a valid nature guide for the area. What to say? I highly recommend for small groups or families. We will be back as soon as we can!
“Magnificent place, a rare welcome and availability”
“A splendid house, in full Tuscan style, surrounded by greenery and located in a quiet and reserved complex. Excellent for relaxing away from city stress, breathing clean air and organizing excursions in the beautiful surrounding woods and towards the sea, even if there is a swimming pool that could make you change your mind, which is a few kilometers away. And then Guia is an extraordinary hostess, she makes you feel at home right away as if you were a family member. “

What to see nearby the House
Il Padule di Fucecchio
With its approximately 1,800 hectares of extension divided between the provinces of Florence and that of Pistoia, the Padule di Fucecchio is one of the most important wetlands in Tuscany. The Padule, in addition to the richness of the landscapes and nature, preserves the charm of the historical events linked to the Medici and Lorraine families and the traces of the ancient processing of marsh grasses, as well as being the scene of a tragic episode of the Second World War . The historical past clearly emerges from the significant testimonies of the work of man, who, over the centuries, has shaped and modified the very structure of the wetland: thus, the canals and the system of ports are to be read as signs of ancient and important waterways; the Medici bridge of Cappiano, now a tourist facility, as an important passage on the Via Francigena and the center of water regulation and fishing activities.
Tappa n°29 Galleno Via Francigena
Leaving the holiday home at one kilometer you cross the stage n ° 29 of Galleno on the Via Francigena, you will immerse yourself as pilgrims in the wonderful forest of Querce which will lead you along the oldest road ever traveled, Galleno Ponte a Cappiano with the Medici bridge and its extraordinary architecture. From here, along the bank of the Usciana canal, you cross an ancient swamp now reclaimed and go up towards the historic center of Fucecchio. After crossing the Arno, you walk along its embankment and you will soon reach San Miniato, the powerful and rich medieval village still perfectly preserved.
Quercia delle Streghe
La Quercia delle Streghe is located in the park of Villa Carrara in Gragnano, a hamlet of Capannori, in the locality of San Martino in Colle. The mighty tree boasts an approximate age of 600 years. It has a height of 15 meters (according to other sources 24 meters), a trunk with a circumference of about 4 meters and a crown of over 40 meters in diameter, measures that allow the Oak to be classified second in Tuscany for size. The peculiarity of this plant is the tendency to expand the foliage in a direction parallel to the ground, which is not common in this species. La Quercia delle Streghe is currently in good condition, despite some bad adventures that have occurred over the years. First of all, in the early years of the last century, some vandals broke some branches sitting on them. Subsequently, during the Second World War, the oak was identified by the Nazi occupiers as firewood, but then the project to cut down the monumental tree fortunately vanished thanks to the mobilization of the inhabitants of San Martino in Colle.
